Allana's personal book response journal...
19th August 2012 A new Book Response Letter for kids
As you can see, many of the pretty pictures and award stars are missing but we will copy some copmpleted letters and post them on the blog later. This will meet the Book Whisperer idea of writing a letter to explain how your book is going. I wanted to keep the writing to a minimum but still get the benefit of the children having to think about their reading. We will let you know how it goes.
I will have to get a book ready and on-the-go as we beginng Daily 5 tomorrow. I have to Read, Read, Read too as a good role model.

7th July 2012 When Santa Fell to Earth
I have really had an example of needing to choose a 'Good Fit' book in the last week. I needed to read lots of the books I have been buying for the class and really didn't enjoy the Rainbow Magic Fairy stories or even the Bug Buddies stories. This was not because they were bad stories but I was missing one of the IPICK aspects. I could read the words, comprehend the books and they fit my purpose, but I really wasn't interested in the topic.
I now drive around the countryside looking for a rickety old caravan, where the Santa's elves might be creating my very own present for next Christmas. I also wonder what Santa would really look like. Who decided he should be fat and wear a red coat?
